Plum Bakshaish

This hand knotted pile rug is made using natural dyes and handspun wool. This contemporary classic is woven with around 90kpsi and a wonderful Bakshaish design with a revised color pallet made especially for a modern sensibility. Weaving takes place in the northern areas of Afghanistan, the home of the Turkmen people. Carpet weaving is perhaps the most essential and revered cultural activity for Turkmen; something which traditionally all women take part in.
