Para Mamluk

Hand knotted pile rug which is made using natural dyes and handspun wool. This rug is finely woven with over 130kpi and a stunning 16th century design with complex motifs related to the earlier Mamluk carpets that was commissioned exclusively for the Nomad Rugs team. Weaving takes place in the northern areas of Afghanistan, the home of the Turkmen people. Carpet weaving is perhaps the most essential and revered cultural activity for Turkmen; something which traditionally all women take part in.
