Bird Khamseh

This finely hand knotted pile carpet is made with natural dyes and handspun wool from fine Karakul wool. The design of this rug is from the Khamseh tribe. This rug comes to us from the James Opie Collection. James is an author and expert in antique Persian Tribal rugs. Recently, he has commissioned some of his favorite antique designs to be newly woven in Northern Afghanistan. These are simply the very best tribal rugs woven anywhere today! Sublime, rich, saturated colors and fine weaving up to around 140kpi. Gorgeous birds in this rug are inspired by 19th century Khamseh rugs.
