Beshir Turkmen

This handmade gallery rug was woven in the Middle Amu Darya river basin and dates to 1900 or before. In the trade, these are often called Beshir Turkmen rugs. Woven by Turkmen weavers, the dimensions of the rug create a wide runner (or Kelleh) format which is typical of Beshir rugs from this era.
