Hand knotted pile rug made using 100% natural dyes and handspun wool and a finer 120kpsi weave. This bespoke rug was woven exclusively for Nomad Rugs based on an 19th century Azeri design. Weaving takes place in the northern areas of Afghanistan, the home of the Turkmen people. Carpet weaving is perhaps the most essential and revered cultural activity for Turkmen; something which traditionally all women take part in.
