This hand knotted pile rug is made using 100% natural dyes and handspun wool; commissioned by the Nomad Rugs design team and woven by Turquoise Mt. weavers. Over 900 women in Afghanistan’s northern provinces are being supported in this weaving project which creates a sustainable livelihood for these families. By combining this rich heritage of Afghan weaving, ethical labor, the finest locally sourced materials with our unique designs we were able to create this splendid carpet. Here we chose a totally unique and stunning 19th Afshar Tree of Life motif woven with a fine fleecy pile, vibrant colors in a finer 120kpi weave.
