Transylvanian Rug

A finely woven hand knotted pile carpet made with entirely hand carded and handspun wool and natural dyes. This rug is one of a collection of rugs based on historic carpets. A truly stunning and remarkable rug! This rug boasts a knot count of almost 300 knots per inch! A beautifully drawn and classical Turkish design. This striking rug is truly the work of master weavers! Many 16th century Turkish rugs have been found preserved to this day in Transylvanian churches. This rug is modeled after one of these antique “Transylvanian” rugs.
