This hand knotted pile rug is made using 100% natural dyes and handspun wool. This tribal rug has the emblematic design of the Tekke Turkman (also spelled Teke) of Central Asia. The octagonal medallions in the field of this rug are know as guls and each tribe of the Turkman used distinct guls. The Tekke were the dominant southern Turkman tribe before the Russians took over at the end of the 19th century. This beautiful rug has a finer weave of around 130kpi.
