Silk Trees

This hand knotted pile rug is made with handspun wool and bamboo silk. It was woven in a small cottage industry weaving project were all weaving takes place in individual weaver’s homes. This wonderful carpet is made bamboo silk in the tree motifs. The background color is all handspun wool. The variation of tone and texture along with the natural shine of bamboo silk work in unison to create a visual feast.
