Skilled Afghan weavers produce these colorful hand knotted pile carpets with handspun wool. The handspun Ghazni wool used in these pieces combined with the dying process gives the carpets a wonderful abrash. The designs of this piece is taken from a Shirvan carpet from the Caucuses.
