This thick and sturdy hand knotted pile rug is made with 100% natural dyes and handspun wool. Created in a small cottage industry production in Uttar Pradesh villages where all the weaving takes place in the weavers’ own homes. This is a very thick, weighty, meaty carpet where (like in old Persian Bidjar rugs) all the weight of the carpet is in the heavy, beaten wool pile. Long staple New Zealand wool is imported in bulk and hand carded and handspun in India. If you are looking for a rug to last a century, this may be the rug for you! This rug is firmly knotted with a 100kpi weave.
