Sangusko Rug

This hand knotted pile rug is made using 100% natural dyes and handspun wool; commissioned by the Nomad Rugs design team and woven by Turquoise Mt. weavers. Over 500 women in Afghanistan’s northern provinces are being supported in this weaving project which creates a sustainable livelihood for them and their families. All rugs are Step Label certified for fair trade practices. Carpet weaving is an integral part of Afghan heritage, bringing together the ethnic diversity of this country in one art form. By combining this rich heritage, ethical labor, the finest locally sourced materials and our unique designs we were able to create this resplendent carpet.
