This dynamic hand knotted pile rug is made using natural dyes and handspun wool. The thick pile in this rug is from lanolin rich Central Asian wool. And the rich wonderful colors have a subtly variegated abrash. This finely crafted rug is woven with a tighter weave of around 120kpi. Hand woven in India, this rug embodies the spirit and heritage of traditional Oriental weaving. The so called Polonaise designs refer to a group of classical Safavid rugs woven in Isphahan. The first examples of these to be exhibited in Europe came from Polish sources and hence they were know as Polonaise despite the Persian origin.
