Oushak

A hand knotted pile rug made with handspun wool and a 100kpi weave. These rugs are modeled after the highly coveted 19th century production of Oushak rugs from Turkey. Oushak rugs (also spelled Ushak or Usak) originated in the village of the same name in west central Anatolia, roughly 100 miles south of the city of Istanbul. Oushak has produced some of the most decorative Persian influenced rugs of all times. These carpets have been in very high demand by decorators and designers for their soft pleasing palate and informal designs.
