This hand made kilim rug is flat woven in a tapestry weave technique. Made with all natural dyes and handspun wool. These kilims have a slightly rough primitive texture and a rich abrash. This makes them look much like the antique kilims prized by collectors. The designs are primarily sourced from Persian tribal flat weaves. The Mogol weavers are a little known ethnic group from northern Afghanistan who are descendants of the Mongols who invaded this region in the 13th century. Proceeds from the sale of this rug benefit Barakat Inc.
