Mamluk Medallion

Hand knotted pile carpet made using only handspun wool and natural dyes. This gorgeous rug has a finer weave of around 150kpi. It has the distinct design and colors of a classical Mamluk rug. The Mamluk Sultans (who ruled over Egypt from the 13th to the 16th century) were patrons of the arts and commissioned many fine rugs. Mamluk rugs with their unique geometric designs are equally well suited for contemporary or traditional interiors.
