Hand knotted pile rug made with handspun Zagros mountain wool and all natural dyes. In Persian, gabbeh means raw or unclipped; an apt description for these thick, whimsical gems of tribal art. Their thick wool made for ideal insulation against the desert whose temperatures fluctuate from extreme hot and cold. Earlier iterations of these rugs were rather primitive and naïve. However, as these rugs became popular in the last decades, they have grown in sophistication and range of design. This incredible example has multiple lions roaming the field. This lovely rug has a weave of around 120kpi. FREE Shipping and Easy Returns.
