Kaitag Rug

Hand knotted pile rug made with thick hanspun wool. This fantastic tribal rug design was inspired by an antique Kaitag tribal embroidery. The Kaitag people made richly evocative embroidered art that spans the gap between tribal art and modernist expressionism. This Kaitag inspired rug is knotted in a chunky weave of around 40kpi. This coarse knotting along with the silky soft handspun wool and rich natural dyes give this rug a “modern primitive” feel. The rug is both timelessly tribal and progressively modern.
