Hand knotted pile rug made with handspun wool and natural dyes. In Persian, gabbeh means unclipped; an apt description for these thick, whimsical gems of tribal art. Their thick wool made for ideal insulation against the desert whose temperatures fluctuate from extreme hot and cold. This rug is a throwback to earlier 19th century iterations of these fantastic tribals rugs were rather primitive and naïve.
