Caucasian Cuval

Circa 1900. This handmade vintage kilim rug is flat woven in a tapestry weave and made entirely of wool and is around 100 years old. This particular textile was originally woven as a “cuval” (a large camel bag or storage bag). The sides of the bag have been opened up to display the entire textile. Kilim rugs are a personal favorite of mine as I am drawn to the archaic designs that have changed little over the centuries. A real authentic and beautiful Caucasian tribal kilim rug!
