This finely hand knotted pile rug is made using 100% natural dyes and handspun wool. This stunning rug constitutes one of the most finely woven carpets produced anywhere with all natural dyes and handspun wool. The knotting is approximately 15/15 or 225 knots per square inch. The typical carpet contains at least 13 different vegetable dye colors. The very finely handspun wool used and the extraordinary weave with a depressed warp give these carpets a subtle and refined character which must be seen up close to be fully appreciated. The design was inspired by an antique Bidjar carpet. These wide and long rugs are know as kelleh size or also as gallery runners. Truly a remarkable beauty!
