Beni Ourain Shag

Hand knotted pile rug made using all natural un-dyed and handspun wool and mohair. This wonderful carpet is modeled after an antique Moroccan Beni Ouarain rug. It is knotted in a textured weave of around 40kpi. This coarse knotting along with the silky soft handspun wool/mohair blend, the braided ends and spontaneous organic designs give this rug a “modern tribal” feel. The incredible glossy and silky pile in this carpet is made from a blend of soft mohair and lincoln wool. Not only is this blend incredibly soft and luxurious, but because these are long staple fibers, this carpet sheds much less than typical shag rugs.
