Bakshaish

Hand knotted pile rug made using natural dyes and handspun wool. This rug is woven with around 90kpi and a NW Persian Bakshaish all-over design made with updated colors and commissioned for the Nomad Rugs team. Wonderful soft ivory background and rich reds, greens and blues come together in this lovely textile. Weaving takes place in the northern areas of Afghanistan where the art of weaving is reverently passed on from mother to daughter with the weaving of these rugs taking place in individual family homes.
