Gabbeh

Hand knotted pile rug made with handspun wool and natural dyes. In Persian, gabbeh means unclipped; an apt description for these thick, whimsical gems of tribal art. Their thick wool made for ideal insulation against the desert whose temperatures fluctuate from extreme hot and cold. All hand spun wool. Woven in Iran by the Qashqai people of Fars Province. These wonderful and whimsical rugs are a treat to the feet and a feast for the eyes.
